Decorate Your Own

Join our Long Island family for a hands-on gingerbread decorating session. We've been baking by hand since 1995, and we're ready to help you create something beautiful.

Step 1: Choose Your Character

Visit our studio and select a gingerbread house or a large cookie character to decorate together.

Parties & Groups

We bring the magic of gingerbread to school trips, scout groups, and birthday parties. Our hands-on sessions are perfect for kids to learn the craft while creating their own masterpieces in a fun, safe environment.

Our Creative Journey

Gingerbread University was started by Professor Frederick H. Terry Sr., a retired college teacher and co-founder of Lobster Roll, Inc., along with his son Rick. They wanted a place where families could sit down and make something together the old-fashioned way. Everything is still cut and baked by hand in our own kitchen. It is not a class and nobody has to be good at it. Toddlers press candy into icing while grandparents pipe careful little windows, and everyone leaves holding something they made. We operate from Eastern Long Island, where the Terry family has twelve generations of roots, and a substantial portion of our profits goes to The Smile Train, which funds cleft palate surgery for children.
